Old Mined Mexican Turquoise 5ct

Turquoise has been mined in Mexico for thousands of years. The stone is held in high esteem by native peoples being used for jewellery and religious purposes and having a history of lore and myth.

The vast majority of turquoise for sale will have gone through a process of stabilisation, either by pressure filling the porous stone with a stabilising filler or by grinding down the turquoise into a powder and then mixed with epoxy to reconstitute it. These processes mean that otherwise unsuitable low grade turquoise can be used for jewellery. Colour enhances are also typically added in these processes.

Our turquoise is genuine old mined, unprocessed, natural stock.

All turquoise will fade over time.
